Fungi
MYCOLOGY & LICHENOLOGY SECTION
Mycology is the study of fungi, lichenology is the study of lichens - which are also fungi - but a specialised group that have a symbiotic relationship with algae and cyanobacteria.
The YNU is concerned that although there is considerable interest in these two interconnected and ecologically significant groups of organisms, their profile should be raised by extending the program of indoor and outdoor meetings in 2010.
