About us
Welcome to the Yorkshire Naturalists' Union

We are an association of amateur and professional naturalists covering a wide range of aspects of natural history. We deal with the 'old' county of Yorkshire, as individuals and through our many Affiliated Societies, many of which are local naturalists' groups.
Hymenoptera:Aculeata - Bees, wasps and ants
Photos of Hymenoptera recorders - help wanted.
I am writing an account of the recording of aculeate Hymenoptera (wasps, ants and bees) in Watsonian Yorkshire, to be published in 2011 to coincide with 150 years of the YNU. (People, Places and Species: A history of aculeate Hymenoptera recording in Watsonian Yorkshire).
Membership
YNU Membership
Members have just received a bumper pack of publications containing the latest Bird Report, YNU Bulletin and The Naturalist, as well as details of next spring's Annual Conference.
As well as receiving 2 issues of the YNU Bulletin and 4 issues of The Naturalist each year, plus the annual Bird Report, members have the considerable benefit of meeting like-minded naturalists at training days, field meetings and conferences organised by the Union.
Membership is available to everyone, whatever their interests and level of expertise.
