Preliminary report

On a bright and breezy day 25 YNU members investigated this little-known corner of the county. All felt it was a succesful visit and a number of interesting species caught the attention. Most striking was the bright yellow hay meadow full of Crepis biennis. Particular highlights were the large number of plant gall species found, the large number of molluscs found in the various water water bodies and surrounding areas, a new ichneumon species for the county, and a thriving population of a rare sedge. Fuller details will appear shortly.
