The results from the 2020 Big Butterfly Count, held between the 17th July – 9th August, have now been released and they worringly show that 2020 had the lowest average number of butterflies ever recorded since the survey began 11 years ago. It will be interesting to see the results from the 2020 UKBMS survey, which usually runs weekly during a 26-week period between 1st April and 29th September each year. Unfortunately due to Covid 19 the survey was suspended intially and didn't start until 14th May (in England). Anyone who took part in teh UKBMS this year should ahve recieved an email encouraging them to submit their data before the end of October.
