  • Four short talks (5 to 10min each) with lots of time for questions after each.
  • Get to know & keep in touch with naturalists across Yorkshire (and beyond).
  • Share news,  skills and requests.

Meetings mostly on the first Friday each month (except Jan when we will meet on Fri 9 Jan)

Suggested programme for the first evening in January:

  1. 6.45: "Assemble"  - (chat)
  2. 7.00: Official start
  3. 7.05: Breakout Groups:  A: o B (or we may try both) according to numbers.
    A. Random placement into groups of four as a way of getting to know each other.
    B. We will divide into groups according to interest this evening:  possibly: 1) Birds, 2) Higher Plants,  4) Insects  5) Mammals  6) other suggestions?
  4. 7 15: Three planned short talks of 4 to 10 min each plus 5 -10 min with each for discussion
  5. 7.55: Coffee Break
  6. 8.00: Announcements.
  7. 8.05: Any extra pictures/questions
  8. 8.15: Final (One planned short talk of 4 to 10 min  plus 5 -10 min for discussion)
  9. 8:30: Finish

NOTE: ALL TALKS will only last 10 minutes or less, and should be understandable by non specialists.

Could you volunteer?
Talks could vary from "This is a project we are doing in our wood"  to "What are these three species?" to "Here is an easy way to recognise these two very common spiders/insects" to "Please look out for this kind of organism for me" to "Let's have a discussion on ........ (important topic)".
