Location: Barnsley Library (newly opened) @ The Lightbox, town centre Plaza.

• Less than a 5 minute walk from Barnsley Interchange (rail and bus).
• Plenty of town centre parking - on Saturdays, free for first 3 hours in municipal car-parks, thereafter 50p per half hour.

PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY

10.45am: Welcome and short presentation by our hosts, Barnsley Naturalist & Scientific Society (BNSS).

11.15: Members are invited to visit the planned unveiling of a Blue Plaque for the naturalist Thomas Lister, (1810-1888)*, prominent member of the Yorkshire Naturalists’ Union and also a poet, recently celebrated by the current Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage.

12 noon: Own packed lunch in Library (tea and coffee provided) or cafes available in town centre, including Falco Lounge, directly connected to Library, & Market Kitchen above market building opposite Library.

1:15pm: Group photo in Library

1.30pm: AGM

2.30pm: Presidential Address by Mr Jeff Lunn, on A Sense of Place, A Sense of Purpose.

3.30pm: Close of meeting (Library building closes at 4pm)

Booking will be via a link on the YNU website, available in September. Please indicate whether you wish to attend the morning unveiling as well as the AGM or to attend the latter via Zoom.  We hope as many of you as possible will be able to attend in person.
